Oakley’s Best Bits of 2017

5th January 2018

It’s been a really fantastic year at Oakley, not just for our team and our business but we’ve also had a fantastic result thanks to our contacts when it comes to raising money for good causes. Here’s a selection of what we feel are some of our “Best Bits” of the last year.

We took part in Community events to help raise thousands of £s for charity

Never afraid to get stuck in, our team have taken part in their fair share of charity events this year, some more gruelling than others! We were lead sponsors of the Lewes Ouseday, with Chris Oakley taking the oar for a paddle board race; earlier in the year Chris also contributed to the Brighton2Paris bike ride and to date has raised over £9,000 for MS Research. We’ve also been out Go-Karting to raise funds, sponsored The Great Debate and took part in Red Nose Day at our branches.

The unveiling of the mysterious black cat

Being part of the re-launch of one of Brighton’s most iconic buildings and its much-loved mysterious cat sculpture was poignant for us, as we have been long established in the Brighton area and many of our team are Brighton residents. The restored black cat at Lace House hit the news and spread joy throughout the local community, as Brightonians were very happy to see their “pet” returned to his home.

We celebrated 10 years of Residential Lettings

In October, we celebrated 10 years of Residential Lettings at Oakley with an expanded Brighton office. This side of the business has grown rapidly thanks to our close relationship with developers, allowing us to sell new build apartments to private and corporate landlords whilst at the same time being ready to market properties to let off-plan; a seamless process from start to finish. The success of our Lettings team will get 2018 off to a great start as we begin marketing 63 new one and two-bedroom apartments on the former American Express office site on behalf of Brighton and Hove’s first Private Rented Sector development.

We were Finalists in the Lewes District Business Awards 2017

Our team in Lewes were delighted to be shortlisted for The Professional Services Award in the Lewes District Business Awards this year. David Beaken at our Lewes branch has provided excellent service to our clients and customers throughout the year and this nomination was very well deserved.

We’ve launched and sold dozens of significant new developments in Brighton, Hove and Lewes

It’s been a fantastic year for property sales and in particular our New Homes Team have been exceptionally busy. We’ve launched, marketed and sold a large number of new homes in a diverse selection of developments across East Sussex, some selling out in just a matter of weeks. From cottages at The Courtyard, Stanmer, a whole row of new 3 and 4-bedroom houses in Kingsthorpe; Hove, Riverside homes at Chandlers Wharf in Lewes, and city centre luxury seaside apartments in Old Steine, Brighton.

2017 has been a great year at Oakley and this is thanks to the hard work and dedication of each and everyone of our valued team members across all of our offices, plus the support from our clients, customers and suppliers.

Big Plans for Oakley in 2018

2018 is our 25th Anniversary and we have some great plans for the year, which you will hear about soon, but including the opening of our new Shoreham Office, which will be run by Shoreham Property Expert Nick Williams 01273 661577 or shoreham@oakleyproperty.com

Thank you all!
