Useful property apps for Landlords
22nd August 2018
We all manage our lives from our Smartphones these days – being able to carry out personal admin on the train, bus or in front of the telly is a real blessing for busy people. When it comes to property, there are plenty of super useful apps to help you manage your life; whether you’re a full-time landlord or just starting out. Our Sussex Property Management team takes care of everything you need help with in a rented property if you use our full management service, but so that you can keep your eye on the ball too, here are some best property app recommendations:
Buy-to-Let Stamp Duty calculator
If you’ve got your eye on a new property, perhaps one of the great investment properties in our Sussex for sale portfolio, it’ll be useful for you to know how much stamp duty you can expect to pay with the new Buy-to-let stamp duty tiers. The Which? Buy to Let Stamp Duty calculator will give you an instant online answer to add into your buying cost calculations.
Cashflow management for Landlords
The Landlord Studio app is great for keeping an eye on your cashflow as you grow your portfolio. It will give you an overview of when rent is due on each property, help you keep on top of arrears if there are any, and allow you to track your personal expenditure against each property and generate reports that are useful for your accounting records.
A good all-rounder app for Landlords
Direct Line Insurance group are working hard to become recognised for their support of landlords, so in addition to their line of appealing Landlord insurance products they’ve also created a free app for anyone to download. The free Mobile Landlord app has a lot of info in it and can support the storage of useful info about up to 5 of your properties, including things like insurance and Estate Agent details, finances and yield calculations. Plus, there are plenty of information pages that answer Frequently Asked Questions about being a landlord.
Track mileage to and from your properties or agent visits
We have been trialling the Mile-IQ app for a while and find it very useful with the amount of visits and meetings we have, and to separate business mileage from personal mileage. The Mile-IQ app records every single journey you take, without you needing to lift a finger. You can tap in any time and then sort these journeys into categories, and it will calculate your mileage costs for you in a very useful report.
If you would like extra support managing your property portfolio, whether your landlord to 1 or 100 properties, we’d be delighted to hear from you and very happy to meet with you to discuss our services at any of our Brighton, Shoreham, or Lewes lettings branches.
