Triumph Over Adversity during Lockdown – a 24 hour move in for Sussex Grocer’s growing needs

In these challenging times, our fast thinking Commercial department is overcoming the difficulties the industry is facing by adapting the way we work. Just recently, we’ve helped an expanding local company Cob & Co who undertake essential food deliveries to their customers in Sussex. A much-needed service at the moment, which you can appreciate is also experiencing an unprecedented demand for its products.
Viewing through the window to facilitate a speedy move
Because our team has been working remotely, Cob & Co we able to approach our Commercial Property team to discuss their urgent need of a commercial business unit, to assist their rapidly expanding online grocery service. The problem was they needed it yesterday! Our Commercial team act for Shoreham Port Authority and having built a strong working relationship with the port, we were aware of their flexible approach to commercial tenancies. We, therefore, suggested a unit within the successful new development Hove Enterprise Centre at the Port’s site in Portslade, which comprises approximately 30 business units in various sizes and has eco-friendly credentials.
Due to the company’s urgent needs and essential line of work, Shoreham Port was able to provide in-house tenancy documents, and Cob & Co were able to move into the unit within 24 hours of viewing through the windows! They are settling into their new premises and this has given them the extra space they needed to work safely and efficiently in this very interesting period in their business. It has also supported the Port in maintaining good occupancy levels at the premises during the crisis.
