Oakley Commercial proud to advise Shoreham Port on Award Winning scheme

18th January 2021

Oakley Commercial are delighted to have been involved in the Award-winning office scheme at Lady Bee Enterprise Centre from concept stage to finished units.

Comprising 14 business units, Lady Bee Enterprise centre is an outstanding development that has proven to be extremely successful and remains fully let in these troubled times.

Oakley Commercial’s team were involved from the concept stage, prior to the planning application being submitted and helped to hone the design of the units through discussion with Shoreham Port and the Architects appointed, thus avoiding many potential pitfalls. They were also able to provide information on market demand, advising on the size and specification of the units to appeal to the occupier market at the time.

The scheme proved to be very popular with tenants and at one stage had a waiting list!

The tenants were not only attracted by the energy efficiency, electric vehicle charging points and other features which meet or exceed the requirements of a carbon-neutral development. They were also drawn to the contemporary design of Lady Bee: its distinctive sawtooth roof profile makes it a landmark place to work and something any aspiring business can be proud to call home.

The new tenants weren’t the only people to have been impressed by the development. Lady Bee Enterprise Centre has already won two awards, being announced as Best Small Commercial Building at the LABC South East Building Excellence Awards and more recently as Best Commercial Building at the Sussex Heritage Awards. Lady Bee has also been featured by the Architects Journal.

Congratulations to Shoreham Port, the developers and ECE Architecture for these well-deserved recognitions and for setting a new standard for architecture projects in and around port locations.

Best wishes too, to the new tenants. Everybody here at Oakley wishes you every success with your businesses and hopes your smart new accommodation will provide you with all the motivation, inspiration and comfort you need.

Shoreham Port has continued to provide contemporary business units modelled on the Lady Bee Scheme at Ferry Wharf & Hove Enterprise Centre in Hove. Extending to 1550sqft each, they provide well specified office/business space with electric charging points, air sourced heat pumps for heating and cooling, LED lighting with motion sensors and onsite parking for vehicles and bicycles.
